General Description

The operating principle of membrane oxygen generation units is the same as that of membrane nitrogen generation systems — it consists of a difference in the rate at which nitrogen and oxygen pass through the membrane material. The difference is that, unlike nitrogen, oxygen is a target product that comes out at a slight overpressure.

Oxygen with a purity of 30–45% produced by air separation membranes can be used in a wide range of industries and applications. Oxygen of this purity is used, for example, in processes in iron and steel works, for welding and cutting metals. Companies involved in fish, shrimp, crab and mussel farming use membrane oxygen generation units for incubation purposes.
