Zero-Emission Hydrogen Production by Methane Pyrolysis

The technology developed by Grasys for the production of hydrogen by thermal pyrolysis of methane and oil sludge in a molten iron bath makes it possible to produce hydrogen from natural gas without emitting carbon dioxide.

The pyrolysis of methane makes it possible to produce hydrogen in an environmentally friendly way, as the carbon is released in a solid, biologically neutral form and can be used in production. The hydrogen produced by this process is classified as "turquoise hydrogen".

On-site hydrogen production for the following applications:

The by-product of the pyrolysis process — solid black elemental carbon (graphite) — can be used as an industrial raw material for the manufacture of steel, batteries, carbon fibres, and various carbon-based structures and materials.
