Peak Shaving

Peak Shaving is a solution for natural gas peak consumption balance.

Peak Shaving is one of the most common LNG applications all over the world. Special systems, Peak Shaving, are used to balance peak consumption of natural gas. The operating principle is based on LNG production and accumulation in storage tanks during low consumption periods (usually in the warm season), regasification and natural gas back delivery to the gas pipeline during peak demand (usually in the winter months). Peak Shaving finds its application in industry and energy, providing backup fuel for power plants and boiler houses (TPP, CHP-plant, SDPP).

When the demand for natural gas increases, peak shaving ensures uninterrupted supply while cutting energy costs.

The system includes a small-scale LNG production complex (generally with LNG capacity ranging from 10 to 50 t/h), flat-bottomed cryogenic tanks (isothermal), LNG regasifiers.
